Expectations

 All my life I have lived on what others saw me as. If someone saw me as a scholar I use to make sure that I would never let him/her down. Then one day it just dawned to me that all my life had been pretence because I wasn't living life on my terms but on that of others. 

I bet all of your parents expect something or the other from you and that you want to make sure you could make them smile by fulfilling their expectations. This is where we go wrong. I believe that the only one that should expect something from you is you yourself. If you always do what others want you to do, you shall never find what you truly desire.

So learn to say 'no' even if it might disappoint the person it is addressed to. If you are wondering that what cruel being would not want their parents happy then let me remind you that your parents don't expect you to be an engineer or doctor they want you to be happy. And if you discover your dream and live a life of contentment I am pretty sure any parent will be happy. 

So live on your own expectations this is the first step to self discovery. By finding yourself not only you but all those who expect things from you will be startled.
